My name is Brett Samuels and I am a reporter at The Hill in Washington, D.C. I cover breaking news related to the federal government, national politics and more.

Before joining The Hill, I was a city reporter in Schenectady, New York. Prior to that, I attended Syracuse University, where worked at The Daily Orange, the independent student newspaper of Syracuse, New York.

In February 2016, I spent a week in New Hampshire covering Jeb Bush's presidential campaign for The Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

I previously interned for The Buffalo News, working mainly on the business desk and occasionally writing general assignment stories.

When I'm not writing, reporting or catching up on sleep, I enjoy reading, eating Taco Bell and quoting "The Office." I am originally from Lisle, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. If you need to contact me, the best way to do so is by email, at blsamuels12@gmail.com.
